Meeting Minutes

February 9th, 2011

President Justin Gaskin called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. at Town Hall. Members present were Susie Millard, Carla Goff, Chad White, Troy Peterson, Jeane Smith, Linda Keller-Decoteau, Robert Jespersen, Dana Blakeman, Nancy Mathews, Bev and Jim Rexford. Guests were : Cathy Kizzire and Helene Oborski , Ed Robinson, and Denise Karren. Susie made motion and Jim seconded to accept minutes as written, all ayes, motion carried. Treasurer’s report given: Christmas Basket $5,506.37, Chamber Bucks $221.00, General Fund $9,211.57, Savings $1,105.50, CD $ 1,624.86, CD for $2,577.25. Treasurer’s report approved. We had bill from Linda for Website Update for $50.00. Bill was approved, and I paid.

Susie made motion and Jim seconded to rescind motion made at our June 9,2010 meeting to take up to $1500.00 from CD to purchase timing lights for use by Chamber at Mud Bog and etc. and put this in our general fund. All ayes and motion carried. Our guests, Kathy and Helene, from Sharon’s Home Health shared what they do, and are interested in Fund Raisers for Hospice. They will be having a fund raiser at Early’s with Prime Rib Dinner, entertainment, and auction March 19th from 5:30 to 8:30. Tickets are $25.00 each, and all monies go to the Hospice Fund. Linda made motion, Susie seconded for Chamber to donate $100.00 to the Hospice Fund, all ayes, motion carried. Police Chief Ed Robinson spoke to us about children’s programs against crime, and also about change in town ordinance concerning kids riding bikes, skateboards, and etc on sidewalks. He was looking for input on this.

Our correspondence was a letter Chad had asking from the Post Prom Party Committee for a donation. Chad made motion, Linda seconded that we donate $200.00 to this, all ayes, motion carried. Linda had letter from Mr. Oestman, and she’ll contact him with lots of questions. Linda gave an update on website. She let us know we have a ribbon cutting for Dr. Robert McIntosh at the Clinic tomorrow, Feb.10, at noon.

Troy said he will give us an update and end of audit report at our next meeting. Business of the Month is the VFW for Feb. Chad, Chair for Membership Committee, would like for each member of the Chamber to recruit one new member. Chad will also ask Robin Voight, if the Logos will take over the Easter Egg Hunt

Linda gave the website updates. Ribbon cutting need to get set up for the following new business: Joyce Drane, Hub Café in February, White Buffalo has two new business’s going in, Bob McIntosh Chiropractic, Gun Smith in the Crook County Country Store and The Hair Station. Kathy gave the report on the Christmas baskets there were 27 families and 63 angels. This is down from last year but had great help from the FCCLA and Moorcroft High School Girl’s Basketball team. Robert will get with the school for the winner of the most canned goods and set up the pizza party. Nancy came later and reported that the Santa was a huge success and that next year going to need to find a different location it’s to big to hold at the VFW. Justin informed everyone that he is starting to advertise in the different magazines for the New Year.
