President Justin Gaskin called the meeting to order at noon at the Hub Café’. Members present were Justin Gaskin, Susan Millard, Pam Jespersen , Jim Diehl, Robert Jespersen, Linda Keller-Decoteau, Elaine Buckmiller, Elsie Hix, Bev and Jim Rexford. .
A change to last month’s minutes was corrected, as I listed Pam Jespersen as a guest, and she is a member. The minutes were approved, as was the Treasurer’s report.
Justin Gaskin read the bills to be paid. Motion was passed to pay the outstanding bills. Susan Millard donated her bill to the Chamber. Thanks Susan.
Elaine Buckmiller said the Harvest Feastival preparations are coming along quite well. They need to have some more donations of soups. Bring your favorite for everyone to enjoy. They can also use more baked goods for the bake sale. They plan on having a Business Expo this year. Tables will be available for $25.00, or bring your own at $15.00. Information about this can be obtained from Linda Keller-Decoteau at 756-3514.
Elaine Buckmiller asked if the Chamber would be willing to donate up to $500.00 of the money from the Feastival to the First Presbyterian Church for turkeys for the Thanksgiving baskets that are given to the needy for Thanksgiving. Susan Millard made motion for the chamber to do so, Pam Jespersen seconded, and motion passed. This helps us to give back to our community.
There will also be a silent auction at the Harvest Feastival,. Help with any of this is appreciated, and you can get in touch with Elaine Buckmiller or Stacey Avery at Security Insurance.
We had new memberships. KYDT-KBFS Radio Station from Belle Fourche joined us. Elsie Hix is associated with the Radio Station, and she joined us too. Welcome!
Linda Keller-Decoteau updated the website, adding business cards, and new pictures. She has already started to advertise for the Harvest Feastival. Good Job Linda!
Congratulations again to Susan Millard for Citizen of the Year, and Justin Gaskin for the Moorcroft Historical Society for Business of the Year. Both were very deserving!
Susan Millard is sending out thank-you notes.
We still need to sell raffle tickets. Wouldn’t it be nice to win $1000.00 for that extra Christmas money ? Tickets are $10.00 for one, or $25.00 for three. There is also a gun, and a hope chest to be won. All chamber members, and most businesses have these available.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:15 P.M. Our next meeting will be held at the Hub Café’, November 9, 2011 at noon. We welcome everyone.
Respectfully submitted,
Bev Rexford
